✨President Inauguration
This week, Drury inaugurates our esteemed President Dr. Jeff Fredericks with a ceremony on Friday, Oct. 25th in the Stone Chapel at 9 a.m. President Fredericks will then be honored with a plague unveiling and lunch at 11 a.m.
The Inauguration Games will commence at 5 p.m. in the Drury Circle. It will include games, live music, and food trucks. Stop by and have a great time celebrating the newest addition to the Drury family!
🍁Fall Fest
The annual Drury Fall Fest is here! The Student Union Board (SUB) allows students to enjoy all things fall: cozy sweaters, food trucks, free giveaways, the chance to win prizes, face painting, and caramel apples.
Events will be held Monday through Thursday from Oct. 28th to Oct. 31st. Come join SUB and fellow students to participate in the week-long activities!

🍬Trunk or Change
Drury’s Habitat for Humanity chapter raises money every October to help the non-profit organization in Springfield. The money will be donated to buy supplies for the construction or renovation of affordable housing for families.
The Habitat for Humanity chapter on campus will be in the FSC on Oct. 31st from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring the change from your couch cushions and at the bottom of your bags to donate and receive Halloween candy.
Off-campus
🍓Farmers Market of the Ozarks
Enjoy fresh organic produce and hand-crafted products from local business owners in Downtown, Springfield. Every Saturday through October, vendors and local musicians will be in the Park Square from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Students have a chance to break away from the stress of assignments where they can enjoy the nice weather and meet new people!

👜Rakish Vintage Market
The Rakish Vintage Market at Classic’s Yard is hosting a Halloween event on Oct. 27th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be coffee, snacks, games, a photo booth, and trick-or-treating.
It is a free event, and it is highly encouraged to bring your friends! It’s the perfect way to get into the spooky season and shop for vintage clothing, win a costume contest, participate in a Tarot Reading, and so much more!
The location is 1900 West Sunset Street at Classics Yard, the indoor Sports Complex.

✏Tutoring Services
Drury offers free tutoring all semester for students who need help in their courses. All tutoring is now located in the O’Reilly Enterprise Center (OEC) on the first floor. Drury is committed to helping students live up to their highest potential by offering tutoring for all departments.
The Writing Center, located in the room next to The Tutoring Center, is open to any student who needs advice on writing assignments or wishes for someone to look over their paper before turning it in.

If you need any guidance for what courses to take or figuring out what comes next after your time at Drury, The Compass Center is a great resource! It allows you the time to ask questions, seek advice, and meet with people whose sole focus is ensuring you are comfortable here at Drury and what you do next as your time at Drury comes to a close.
The Compass Center provides information about graduate school, how to find and apply for internships, tips to be successful in job interviews, how you can best meet your goals, and so much more!

📰Drury Currents
Calling all Drury students! Submissions for Drury’s 2024-2025 Currents Issue are now open. The Currents staff is calling for small-sized works from students. This can include micro-fiction, poetry, or any other type of prose under 750 words. The submission is also open to visual media such as drawings/sketches, photography, digital art, or paintings.
This year’s title is “(Anti)thesis.” The theme is focused on the duality and reimagining of the lived human experience. Some examples of this duality include Utopian/Dystopian, Evolution/Extinction, Life/Death, Hope/Fear, Optimism/Pessimism, and Innovation/Regression.
The deadline for submissions is Oct. 31st emailed to currents@drury.edu.
